چکیده
Introduction. To investigate the predictive factors for successful repeat microdissection testicular sperm extraction attempts in patients with Klinefelter syndrome. Methods. A total of 28 azoospermic men nonmosaic syndrome who have received twice initial our institute were studied. Outcome variables (age, serum follicle-stimulating hormone, luteinizing testosterone, prolactin, and estradiol) a 2nd surgical retrieval attempt (group A) compared to those an unsuccessful B). Results. Twenty-one (75%) had recovery at attempt. The mean testosterone level baseline before 1st was higher group than B (2.7 vs. 0.9 ng/mL, p < 0.01 , 3.9 1.1 id="M2"> = 0.02 ). Receiver operating characteristic curve analysis identified threshold concentration (1.5 ng/mL) predicting revealed positive negative values 94.44% 60%, respectively. Conclusion. Azoospermic presenting low levels during first procedure are unlikely retrieve on Hence, these should be properly counseled retrieval.

Microdissection testicular sperm extraction
Microdissection testicular sperm extraction (microTESE) is considered the gold standard method for surgical sperm retrieval among patients with non-obstructive azoospermia (NOA). In this review, we will discuss the optimal evaluation of NOA patients and strategies to medically optimize NOA patients prior to microTESE. In addition, we will also discuss technical principles and pearls to maximize...
متن کاملTesticular sperm extraction in azoospermic men submitted to bilateral orchidopexy.
BACKGROUND This study was carried out to evaluate whether bilateral orchidopexy represents a poor or good prognostic factor in azoospermic men undergoing testicular sperm extraction (TESE). METHODS One hundred and seven presumed non-obstructive azoospermia (NOA) patients, according to conventional clinical parameters (volume of testis, FSH, clinical history) were submitted to testicular biops...

Background To evaluate predictive factors of successful microdissection-testicular sperm extraction (MD-TESE) in patients with presumed Sertoli cell-only syndrome (SCOS). MaterialsAndMethods In this retrospective analysis, 874 men with non-obstructive azoospermia (NOA), among whom 148 individuals with diagnosis of SCOS in prior biopsy, underwent MD-TESE at Department of Andrology, Royan Institu...
متن کاملFeasibility of simultaneous testicular microdissection for sperm retrieval and ipsilateral testicular tumor resection in azoospermic men.
Male infertility is known to be associated with testicular tumors (Honig et al, 1994). In one recent report (Nobert and Goldstein, 2001), at least a 16-fold increase in the risk of testicular cancer, with seminoma being the most prevalent one, has been reported to be associated with male infertility. Generally, the standard initial treatment for testicular mass, in view of its high likelihood o...
